I know I shouldn't be, but I'm surprised that Ted E. is surprised to discover the reason something isn't working is because he's doing it wrong.
His self-righteous rant is just starting to gather momentum when he actually looks at what he's complaining about.
"Oh. It's my fault."

Are the pop-up ads on purpose?
No, they're not, and they're annoying the hell out of me. I'm trying to find out what setting has changed to enable them - I half-suspect it's something tucked away under Google Analytics.
If you view page source, they're being launched by a blogger widget called
"_WidgetManager._RegisterWidget('_BlogView', new _WidgetInfo" that has a whole bunch of references to "AdStart" in it.
Not sure if that helps, but it looks like it's blogger.com putting them in.
Steve Well that's annoying - I was pretty sure it was Blogger embedding the code (they did it to a friend of mine a couple of years ago), and it doesn't look like there's anything I can do in the editable parts of the template to get rid of them.
The Noscript addon for Firefox blocks these quite well (I didn't know it was happening until I read the comment). I can read the blog without any problem despite the fact that I have blogspot forbidden.
Isn't it fun when someone FINALLY sees the light -- even if it only shines for a moment or two?
